Sunday library service returns to Rawlings Library

PUEBLO, Colo. – Starting Sunday, Jan. 3, library curbside service returns to Robert Hoag Rawlings Public Library, 100 E. Abriendo Ave. Sunday’s curbside pickup hours are 1 to 5 p.m.; Pueblo City-County Library District buildings remain closed to the public due to Pueblo County’s high-risk status.

Rawlings Library was closed on Sundays starting in July due to ongoing protests at the Christopher Columbus statue that is directly across from the library. Because of this, Sunday service was shifted to Barkman Library, 1300 Jerry Murphy Road and Lamb Library, 2525 S. Pueblo Blvd. Barkman and Lamb will now be closed on Sundays.

Patrons can still browse for and place holds on library materials in the online catalog by going to www.pueblolibrary.org as well as browse the available e-services. Curbside pickup is available at all Pueblo library locations and patrons can now easily schedule their own curbside pickup time through the library’s website or by calling (719) 562-5600. Mail delivery is also available.

Maintaining its commitment to increasing digital access for Pueblo County residents, the district has tablets, Chromebooks and internet hotspots available for check out. Tablets have a one-month loan limit, Chromebooks and internet hotspots may be checked out for three months; all are available for free with a valid PCCLD library card. For those without a card, they can sign up online by going to www.pueblolibrary.org then clicking the tab “Get a Library Card.”

PCCLD is continuing to follow mandates from Gov. Jared Polis, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment and Pueblo Department of Public Health and Environment to guide the protection of patrons, staff and overall community.
