The Pueblo City-County Library District (PCCLD), Pueblo City Schools District 60 (D60), and Pueblo County School District 70 (D70) are working together in collaboration as part of the White House’s national initiative called The Library ConnectED Challenge. Pueblo is one of more than thirty major cities and counties taking the challenge, which includes a commitment to support student learning through programming that develops their language, reading, and critical thinking; provide digital resources, such as eBooks and online collections of traditional media; and provide broadband connectivity and wireless access within library facilities. The goal is to improve student access to the learning resources and books of America’s libraries. This initiative includes the support of the White House, the Institute of Museum and Library Services, the American Library Association, and the Urban Libraries Council.
To fulfill this partnership, PCCLD is providing every D60 and D70 student with a public library account using each student’s school identification numbers instead of separate library cards.

With their Library ConnectED account, students can:

  • Access library research databases.
  • Borrow e-materials such as downloadable books, audiobooks, music and videos
  • Borrow up to 5 each: Books, Books on CD, Playaways, Playaway Book Packs, Magazines (except current issues), puppets; for 21 days
  • Borrow 1 each: DVD, CD, Video Game, Playaway View, Playaway Launchpad; for 7 days.

There are no overdue fines for ConnectED accounts, but users are responsible for fees on lost or damaged books.

To access online information and checkout materials, the student must know their Student ID and birthdate: Library Account: D60+ student ID (example: D60123456) OR D70+student ID (example: D7012345) OR PSAS+student ID (example: PSAS1234567) PIN: mmddyyyy (example: 02142010)

Right now, the ConnectED Program is limited to D60 and D70; we offer library visits to other schools to provide a library card drive and information about other library services.
