About the Opportunity
Studio 1315 at Lucero Library is a brand-new, free sound recording studio designed to support musicians, podcasters, sound artists, and audio creators of all levels. To launch this creative space, PCCLD is seeking three local artists to serve as our 2025 Artists in Residence.
This residency is a dual opportunity: to develop your sound-based projects while helping us introduce Studio 1315 to the community through workshops, open studio hours, and a public showcase.
What Is an Artist in Residence?
An Artist in Residence (AIR) is a practicing artist given dedicated time, space, and resources to focus on their craft while engaging with the public.
At Studio 1315, this means:
- Producing original audio work in a professional recording studio
- Hosting workshops that teach sound creation, production, and recording techniques
- Inviting patrons into the creative process to demystify audio work
- Helping build awareness of Studio 1315 as a hub for sound and music creation
This program supports both the artist’s growth and the community’s access to creative experiences.
Our Vision
The Experiential Learning Department at PCCLD is committed to:
- Expanding equitable access to music and audio production tools
- Supporting local musicians, audio engineers, and sound artists
- Creating inclusive, welcoming spaces where community members can explore sound, creativity, and collaboration
- Elevating Studio 1315 as a dynamic audio-focused makerspace in Pueblo
Residency Goals & Outcomes
Through this program, PCCLD aims to:
- Support Southern Colorado sound artists and musicians in developing their craft
- Increase public awareness and engagement with Studio 1315
- Provide hands-on audio workshops for patrons of all ages
- Produce a community-centered showcase featuring original work created by the artist and workshop participants
- Strengthen connections between artists, the library, and the local creative community
Who Should Apply
We encourage emerging and mid-career sound artists, musicians, podcasters, and audio creatives to apply.
Ideal candidates:
- Reside in Southern Colorado
- Are committed to their creative practice in sound or music
- Are comfortable engaging the public in workshops and open studio hours
- Are excited to help grow awareness of a new community sound studio
