Which of the living Medal of Honor recipients who would you most like to meet and why? What questions would you ask them and why?

The Pueblo Home of Heroes Association invites students in grades 4-12 to enter an essay contest
answering the above-mentioned topic.

Special note:

Pueblo has four Medal of Honor recipients, which many of you have heard and read about. To encourage you to get to know the other recipients we recommend that you write about a living recipient other than our local heroes. At the essay contest award ceremony we will have an out-of-town Medal of Honor recipient present who will hand out the awards to the winners. If you happen to have written about the recipient who is at the award ceremony, you will be given a special award, whether you are a winner or not, and have the opportunity to meet him. Students who have written about the presenting recipient will be notified in advance that they are receiving this special award.

Pueblo is going to host the Congressional Medal of Honor Society Annual Convention in September of 2017 with as many as forty Medal of Honor recipients attending. As part of the recognition for winning this essay contest all winners in 2016 and 2017, and a guest of their choice, will be invited to attend a special breakfast during the Convention with all the recipients attending. A list of all living recipients of the Medal of Honor can be found on the website:
