Computer Basics

This course will overview computer equipment (mouse, monitor, keyboard, etc.) and discuss operating a computer (turning on/off, accessing programs, using the mouse and using the keyboard).

Introducing Library Elf - a new method of tracking your library materials
The new Library Elf is an easy way to track library items that are due, overdue or ready to be picked up. You also have the ability to receive email and/or text messages about your library materials!

Create your own Dr. Seuss character contest
Draw your own Dr. Seuss character and write a brief description of it. Entries are due March 2, 2012.
1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes will be awarded in the following categories:
Kindergarten, First Grade, Second Grade, Third Grade, Fourth Grade, Fifth Grade, Middle School, and High School.
Winners will be honored at an awards ceremony on Thursday, April 12, 7 p.m. in the Ryals Room of the Rawlings Library.
Winning entries will be displayed during an art show at Rawlings Public Library.

I'm Praying Hard For You by Linda McCaffrey

Barkman Library
I'm Praying Hard For You gives a biographical account of the World War II experiences of Dr. Bill Brenner, a US Army doctor who was taken prisoner by the Japanese during World War II and his devoted wife, who remained in California with their young son.

English as a second language (ESL) classes

The ESL course will help students improve their listening, speaking and pronunciation skills. Students will learn to understand more English that they hear commonly and learn to speak more clearly.
