The Friends of the Library is a voluntary membership organization which recognizes that excellence in library services enhances the quality of life in our community. The Friends began in 1960 in support of a new Main Library and have continued to support the growth of the library and its services. The Friends operate a used bookstore "Books Again", fund special programming including author visits and an award winning summer reading program, and are always willing to help the library support reading activities and other projects that promote the joy of reading.
The membership income is used to make our library ever better. Individual memberships are $15, Family $20,
Business $30, and Gold Card members who give $30 receive a special gift. Benefactor ($100) & Patron ($500) members receive a special gift.

Donating Materials to the Library
Bring us your used books, videos, tapes, CDs, and books on tape. Your generous donations help us grow by
increasing the variety of our materials and resources. All your gifts are tax deductible. Simply ask a staff
member for a gift donation form. The library documents the number of items and you assign the value.
When a donation is not added to the library's collection, it may to be sent to the Friends of the Library used
book store. It is helpful if you bring the items in boxes. Unfortunately, the Friends cannot accept textbooks, old encyclopedias, or magazines because they do not sell and consequently have no value.
If you have questions about the usefulness of your gift, please call 543-4688 for help.
Memorial Gifts and Donations
Book Plates
Book Plates make fun, original gifts to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, or just to say "Thank you."
They are available for any amount starting at $25. You pick the general subject of a book that you would like
purchased for donation to the library. The library identifies the book with a special bookplate naming your special
"honoree." A letter is sent from the library letting them know that a book has been purchased in their honor.
All your gifts are tax deductible. For more information, please call 562-5633.
Memorial Gifts
A memorial gift enriches the lives of those who use the library and is a lasting and thoughtful way to honor a
loved one. Gifts of money or resources can be dedicated to the memory of a special person. Gifts are acknowledged
with special bookplates listing the honoree's name. A letter is sent from the library to the family letting them know
that a book has been purchased in honor of their loved one. All your gifts are tax deductible. For more information, please call 562-5633.
