Hispanic Resource Center Volunteer

Position Description: 

Assist our Hispanic Resource Librarian and Reference and Reader’s Advisory Staff with projects that support and enhance the services provided by the library.

Length of Commitment: 
1 month minimum
Time Involvement: 
4 hours per week
Volunteers must be at least 16 years of age
Ability to speak and understand English and Spanish and to convey a positive, friendly attitude
Ability to work congenially with staff, patrons and other volunteers
Ability to move library materials as necessary
Ability to work independently
Detail-oriented and able to follow written and verbal instructions accurately
Computer skills
Data entry and typing
Filing, sorting and collating
Check and fill information displays
Work with indices
Organize and straighten materials in Hispanic Resource Center
Assist with special events
Projects as assigned
Orientation to the library including all applicable policies and procedures.
Individual training with Hispanic Resource Librarian
