Bob Sakata: American Farmer

Tuesday, October 2, 2012 - 7:00pm

Author Daniel Blegen will present an illustrated talk on Bob Sakata, who’s family owned and operated Sakata Farms near Brighton, Colorado, for many years. Bob Sakata was born near San Francisco, California, in 1926. As a teenager in 1941, he was among the 120,000 Japanese Americans relocated to internment camps during World War II. He overcame poverty, prejudice, and personal hardship to become a successful and innovative farmer.
