In addition to books written for adult new readers, instructional texts and workbooks, literacy games, DVD’s, audio materials, and GED preparation materials, the Library offers numerous online resources to help adult learners achieve their literacy goals:

 

 HelpNow provides assistance with tutoring in elementary, middle school, high school, intro college, and adult education. Live online tutors will be available daily from 2:00-11:00 pm while you’re at the library or at home. HelpNow includes a writing lab, SAT/ACT/GED test prep, virtual group workrooms, and live help with English, Social Studies, Science, and Math.
JobNow is a unique service that features expert resume assistance, live interview preparation, and career coaching. JobNow also offers an Adult Learning Center which includes GED and citizenship test preparation, an expert writing lab, study tools, and a unique academic skills center featuring live, online tutors available from 2:00-11:00pm daily.

Mango Online - PCCLD is excited to offer Mango, a new language learning database! Mango offers a fast and convenient solution for our community’s increasing language-learning needs. There are 47 foreign language learning courses, as well as 16 English language learning options. Check out the mobile apps for Android and iPhone to allow the ability to learn a new language wherever you are!

Pro Literacy-New Reader's Press - This website offers easy-to-read news stories that can help you learn to read, write, speak, and understand the English language. Seven new stories are posted each Wednesday, along with audio, exercises, vocabulary, a crossword puzzle, a word search, and a poll. Listen to each story in full or sentence-by-sentence

Proliteracy Education Network
ProLiteracy is the oldest and largest nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing adult literacy and basic education in the United States. This website provides free reading, writing, math, citizenship, and basic life skills resources for adult literacy and ESOL learners and tutors.

TV 411 -
Using video clips and interactive exercises, this website helps adults gain the basic reading, writing, math, and science skills they need to achieve their educational, career, and personal goals.

U.S.A. Learns
Ideal for ESL students, this website offers free interactive lessons to help adults learn English, improve basic reading, writing, speaking and life skills. Students register so they can save their work and scores, see what lessons they have completed, and start where they stopped last. There is a video introduction that teaches how to register and use the program.

Vocabulary Spelling City
This is an educational game website that can be used with Adult Basic Education and ESL students to help them learn vocabulary and spelling through interactive learning games and activities.
