Women of Pueblo's past: History told through hats
Friday, Aug. 17 at 7 p.m.
Rawlings Library, Ryals Room - 4th floor
The Southeastern Colorado Heritage Center and the Pueblo City-County Library District present: Women of Pueblo, Ladies of Many Hats. This program tells the history of Pueblo's women through a trunk of hats. This trunk focuses on women during a 100-year period, beginning in the late 1800s when the city of Pueblo was incorporated as a proper city and advancing by decades through the 1960s.
Female models will represent those who contributed to Pueblo's history. Hats are the motif that link the women through the decades; you will learn how hat styles mirrored the social and political changes of their times. The lives of these women will be showcased through a PowerPoint program along with the modeling of vintage hats. Admission for this event is $15 and reservations are suggested. This event is co-sponsored by the Pueblo City-County Library District and the Southeastern Colorado Heritage Center. For more information or to make a reservation, please call the Southeastern Colorado Heritage Center at 295-1517.
