Make a Film: Requirements


Film Requirements

Films must be no longer than 6 minutes and 30 seconds.

At least one scene must be filmed at the given location provided at the reveal.

Films must include (either spoken or seen) the quotes announced at the reveal.

Films must incorporate the required props.

Filmmakers must have permission from the owner to use any sound tracks or film clips.

The following will be announced at the Reveal:

Character - The required character does not have to be the star, but must appear in the film.

Props – Three required props will be announced. Use them in creative ways.

Quotes – The two quotes may be spoken by one of the characters or be readable by the audience at some point in the film.

Setting/Location – At least one scene in the film must be filmed at the given setting. Other scenes can be filmed elsewhere. The setting may be concrete or abstract and can be interpreted in different ways.

Film Submission – ALL FILMS MUST BE RECEIVED BY Sept. 23 at 5 p.m.

Films submissions on Flash Drive or SD Card can be dropped off at Rawlings Library Sunday, Sept. 23 between the hours of 1pm and 5pm.


The judges will view the films only once, at the same time as the audience, at the awards show on Saturday Sept 29. at 7p.m. Rawlings Library.

Award Categories and prizes

Only films that meet the above requirements will be eligible for an award.

The Pueblo 48 Hour Film Festival reserves the right to disqualify any film for offensive, sexually explicit or violent content.

Registration fee is $20. Admission fee to viewing is free, with RSVP to
